Beaumont, Texas (January 8, 2022) – A man on a scooter was fatally hit by a vehicle Thursday night in Beaumont, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:31 p.m., January 6, in the 3100 block of East Lucas Drive near Abilene Street.

Police said Clifford Hudson Jr., 39, of Beaumont, was riding a self-propelled child scooter in the westbound outside lane when he was struck by a Chevy Suburban.

Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were available.

The police are investigating the crash.
