Jon Archer Killed, Kaylin Corbin and 2 Kids Injured in Two-Car Crash on SH 105 in Grimes County

Grimes County, Texas – One person was killed and three others were seriously injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Grimes County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:43 a.m. April 5, on State Highway 105 near County Road 446.

DPS said a 2015 Freightliner truck was traveling eastbound while a 2021 Nissan passenger car was traveling westbound.

The Nissan crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the Freightliner.

The Nissan driver, Kaylin Corbin, 29, of Benbrook, and a 3-year-old passenger were transported to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital with serious injuries. A 4-year-old passenger was airlifted to Memorial Herman with suspected serious injuries. The front seat passenger, Jon Archer, 31, of Benbrook, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner was not injured in the crash.

The DPS troopers are investigating the crash.
