Deputy Hospitalized after Harris County Crash on North Sam Houston Tollway
Harris County, Texas (April 5, 2019) – A deputy was injured early Friday morning in a suspected DUI crash in Harris County, according to the authorities.
The crash took place at about 2:00 a.m. on the North Sam Houston Tollway in the eastbound exit for Veterans Memorial.
Officials said a Chevrolet pickup truck rear-ended the deputy’s SUV.
The deputy was taken to Houston Northwest Hospital where he received staples for a head injury.
The Chevrolet driver was also taken to the hospital in unknown condition. He was charged with a first-degree felony of intoxication assault on a police officer.
The officials are investigating the crash.
