Person Killed in Houston Hit-and-Run Crash on Eastex Freeway

Houston, Texas (August 27, 2023) – A person was killed early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 1:15 a.m., August 24, in the 8600 block of Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59).

Police said a person was found in the northbound lanes of the freeway after being struck by multiple vehicles. The victim’s identity has not been released.

No drivers stopped to render aid.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
