Silvia Alonzo Killed in East El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash at Montwood Drive and Seagull Drive

El Paso, Texas – The woman who was killed on Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in East El Paso has been identified as Silvia Resendiz Alonzo, 69, of El Paso, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on March 7, at the intersection of Montwood Drive and Seagull Drive.

Police said Alonzo was driving southbound along the 1900 block of Seagull Drive when she came to a stop at the intersection. She made a left turn at the intersection and failed to yield to a 2017 Nissan Titan that was traveling westbound on Montwood Drive.

Alonzo’s vehicle was then t-boned by the Nissan.

Alonzo was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

Investigators said Alonzo’s failure to yield the right of way and the speed of the driver of the Nissan were contributing factors to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
