Colton Adams and Clint Franklin Airlifted after Leon County Crash on Interstate 45 near Leona

Leon County, Texas (June 7, 2022) – Two members of the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department were injured in a crash that also left a woman dead in Leon County on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident took place on Interstate 45 near Leona on June 6.

Authorities said the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department firefighters were working on a minor crash on the interstate when a semi-truck crashed into them.

The semi-truck then rolled on top of a car involved in the original crash. A female occupant of the car was killed in the crash.

Two Centerville firefighters, identified as 21-year-old Colton Adams and Clint Franklin, were hit by the truck. Adams sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a Temple hospital.

Franklin was also flown to the hospital in unknown condition. He was later treated and released.

A state trooper was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

No further details about the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
