Construction Worker Hospitalized after North Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

North Austin, Texas (August 23, 2019) – A construction worker was hit by an 18-wheeler early Thursday morning in North Austin, according to the officials.

The accident was reported around 4:03 a.m. August 22, in between the 7500 block and 7900 block of Interstate 35 southbound, near U.S. 183.

Officials said the worker was hit for unknown reasons by an 18-wheeler.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The southbound lanes of I-35 at U.S. 183 were closed for about an hour after the crash.

An investigation is underway.
