Daimon Knight, Kahlil De Vaughn Injured in Two-Car Crash on North County Road 1700 in Lubbock

Lubbock, Texas – One person was killed and two others were injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:52 p.m., p.m., April 18, on North County Road 1700.

DPS said Daimon Dale Knight, 61, of Lubbock was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox southbound while Kahlil Lamont De Vaughn, 21, of Littlefield was driving northbound.

The Equinox crossed over the center stripe into the northbound lane and collided with De Vaughn’s vehicle.

Tyler Obed Thompson, 21, of Littlefield, who was a passenger in De Vaughn’s vehicle, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock where he later died.

Knight and De Vaughn were treated for minor injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
