Ford James Stanton Jr. ID’d as Man Killed in Waco Crash at State Highway 31 and Heritage Parkway in Waco

Waco, Texas (July 27, 2019) – Authorities have identified the man who was killed Thursday morning in a traffic accident that also left teenager dead in Waco as Ford James Stanton, Jr., 63, of Groesbeck.

The deadly wreck took place at around 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at the intersection of State Highway 31 and Heritage Parkway north of Axtell.

According to the authorities, a Toyota pickup was traveling southbound on Highway 31 when Stanton, who was driving a Ford SUV, pulled onto the highway from Heritage Parkway and failed to yield the right of way to the truck.

The pickup then hit the SUV.

Stanton and the teenager, who was a passenger in the pickup, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No other details were immediately provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
