Nathan Ortiz ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in North Loop Crash in El Paso

El Paso, Texas (December 27, 2022) – Police have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday night in El Paso as 16-year-old Nathan Alexander Ortiz, of Mission Valley.

The deadly crash occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 25, in the 9200 block of North Loop.

Police said Ortiz was crossing at an undesignated crossing point when a car hit him.

Ortiz was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the car was identified as 22-year-old Phillip David of Mission Valley.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
