Daniel Clain Lott Killed in San Angelo Two-Vehicle Crash on US 277

San Angelo, Texas (December 21, 2020) – A man was killed and a couple was injured in a head-on collision Saturday night, seven miles south of San Angelo, a local news source reported.

The deadly crash occurred around 8:01 p.m., December 19, on US 277.

DPS said Daniel Clain Lott, 60, of Abilene, was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry northbound on the highway when he maneuvered into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into a southbound 2013 GMC Sierra pickup towing a trailer driven by Alvin New, 57.

Lott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alvin and his wife, Shelley, 59, who was in the passenger seat, were taken to Shannon Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
