Mercedes Kuanda Killed in North Richland Hills Pedestrian Accident on Booth Calloway; Gabriella Anchondo Arrested

North Richland Hills, Texas – A pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening after being struck by an intoxicated driver in North Richland Hills, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 8:30 p.m., December 27, in the 4400 block of Booth Calloway.

Police said Gabriella Anchondo, 26, was driving while intoxicated when she struck Mercedes Kuanda,25.

Kuanda was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

Anchondo was arrested at the scene and is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter with vehicle, a second-degree felony. She was recently arrested by North Richland Hills on Dec. 12 for a DWI (her second) and was out on bond pending a trial when this crash happened. She is currently being held in the Tarrant County jail on a $75,000 bond.
