David Dobson Seriously Injured in Fatal Crash on SH 105 in Liberty County
David Dobson Airlifted after Liberty County Crash on State Highway 105 near Moss Hill
Liberty County, Texas (June 18, 2022) – David Dobson, 29, was airlifted to a trauma center following a fatal three-vehicle accident in Liberty County.
The collision happened at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday, June 16, on State Highway 105, just east Moss Hill, approximately one mile from the Liberty-Hardin county line.
Authorities said Dobson, a resident of Humble, Texas, was driving a Walmart tractor-trailer westbound on State Highway 105 when the tractor-trailer collided head-on with an eastbound 2018 Chevy Silverado driven by Brian Gallander, 58, of Batson.
The Silverado then drifted into the westbound lane and hit the tractor-trailer on its driver’s side. After the impact, the tractor-trailer jackknifed and traveled across both lanes.
The tractor-trailer ultimately collided with a 2011 Toyota Tundra that was heading eastbound on State Highway 105, driven by Dorothy “Christy” Guedry Weaver, 47.
Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gallander was airlifted to a Houston-area trauma center in serious but stable condition. Dobson was transported by ground ambulance to Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Gallander may face criminal charges, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
