Passenger Critically Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Texas 183 in Irving

Passenger In Critical Condition after Irving Crash on Texas 183 near Texas 114

Irving, Texas (August 31, 2023) – A passenger was critically injured in a traffic crash on Wednesday evening in Irving, according to police.

The wreck happened at about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30 on westbound Texas 183, just east of the highway’s split with Texas 114.

Police said a driver lost control of their vehicle, which slid into another car.

Due to the impact, the passenger of the vehicle that lost control was ejected onto the highway.

The vehicle then crashed into a barrier on the left side of the highway, spun across the lanes and struck a barrier on the right side.

The passenger who was ejected from the car was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of their vehicle was arrested on a charge of intoxication assault.

The crash remains under investigation.
