Joyce Brown Struck, Killed on IH 10 in Colorado County

75-Year-Old Joyce Brown Killed in Colorado County Pedestrian Accident on IH 10 near Columbus

Colorado County, Texas (April 1, 2020) – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday morning in Colorado County near Columbus, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened around 4:25 a.m., March 27, on IH 10.

According to a preliminary investigation, Joyce Brown, 75, of Alleyton, walked into the westbound outside lane of the highway and was struck by a westbound 2011 Freightliner X12 truck tractor that was towing a Hyundai trailer.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Freightliner driver, Harold Johnson, 47, of Humble, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
