David Medrano, Maxton Winkler Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Loop 338 in Ector County

David Medrano and Maxton Winkler ID’d as 2 Victims In Deadly Ector County Crash on Loop 338

Ector County, Texas (October 11, 2023) – Authorities have identified the two people who were killed in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning in Ector County.

According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, David Medrano, 44, Maxton Steel Winkler, 33, both of Odessa, died following the traffic crash that happened at around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, on Loop 338 near mile mark 255 at W 81st Street.

As the DPS report, Medrano was driving northbound on Loop 338 when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the southbound lanes, where his Ford F-250 hit a Chevrolet 2500 driven by Winkler.

Both Medrano and Winkler were declared deceased at the crash site.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
