Man Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Southwest Freeway in Houston

Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft

Houston, Texas (May 21, 2020)According to police, a man was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Houston.

The accident happened at about 10:40 a.m. May 20, in the southbound lanes of US 59/I-69 Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft.

Police said the man’s disabled vehicle was parked on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes of the freeway. As the man was trying to run across the main traffic lanes, he was struck by a gray Cadillac DeVille.

Investigators said the man might have been trying to prevent his car from getting towed.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Cadillac driver remained at the scene after the accident. 

The police are investigating the crash.
