Officer David Dixon Injured in Harris County Motorcycle Accident on Westpark Tollway near West Houston Center Boulevard
Harris County, Texas (May 29, 2019) – A Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office deputy was injured in a motorcycle accident Tuesday morning in Harris County, according to the authorities.
The accident happened at about 9:50 a.m. May 28, on the Westpark Tollway near West Houston Center Boulevard.
Officials said Officer David Dixon, was stopped in a motorcycle next to the eastbound entrance ramp from West Houston Center Boulevard conducting speed enforcement when a car driving up the ramp ran off the roadway and hit him.
The impact ejected the Dixon from his bike.
He was unable to radio for help and a passing tow truck driver spotted the crash and called the authorities.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and rushed Dixon to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in unknown condition.
The car driver was cited for allegedly failing to maintain a single lane.
The crash remains under investigation.
