Luis Humberto Gutierrez Killed in McAllen Pedestrian Accident at Chicago Avenue and 21 Street

McAllen, Texas (November 12, 2020) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday in McAllen, according to police.

The deadly accident happened on November 5, in the area of Chicago Avenue and 21 Street.

Police said Edgar Turrubiates, 26, of Pharr, was driving when he hit Luis Humberto Gutierrez on the roadway.

Turrubiates fled the scene after the accident.

Gutierrez was killed in the crash.

Turrubiates was later found and has been charged with an accident involving death and is currently being held on a $40,000 bond.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
