David Palestrant Killed in Kerrville Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10; Jonah Stone Arrested

Kerrville, Texas (November 9, 2021) – A 17-year-old Tivy High School student was killed, and two others were injured Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Kerrville, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on November 4, on Interstate Highway 10.

Authorities said a 2002 Ford F-250 with four people inside was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it took quick evasive action to the left to avoid hitting a 2022 Kia K5.

The Ford ended up hitting the Kia before veering across the center median and going into a ravine, causing it to roll over several times.

David Palestrant, who was a passenger in the Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers were taken to University Hospital for treatment. The Ford driver, Jonah Kai Stone, 19, of Kerrville, was uninjured in the crash. He was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and was being held in the Kerr County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.

The Kia driver, Antonio Gonzales, Jr, 33, of San Antonio, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
