2 Killed in Rollover Crash on Highway 249 in Harris County

Two Killed in Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 249 near Beltway 8

Harris County, Texas (December 16, 2021) – Two people were killed on Wednesday in a rollover crash in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened just after 12:00 p.m., December 15, in the 15400 block of Highway 249, near the North Sam Houston Parkway West ramp.

Deputies said two vehicles collided, for unknown reasons, on the highway.

One of the vehicles rolled over after the crash.

One person was airlifted to the hospital, where they later died.

Deputies said after the initial crash, the driver of one of the vehicles got out and jumped over the nearby overpass. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.

An investigation is underway.
