Debora Beck ID’d as Woman Killed in Hale County Crash at FM 400 and CR 110

Hale County, Texas (July 1, 2023) – The woman who died following a two-car accident on Thursday evening just south of Plainview in Hale County has been identified as Debora Ann Beck, 49, of Plainview.

The fatal crash occurred at around 8:03 p.m. Friday, June 30 near FM 400 and CR 110.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Beck was driving her car southbound on FM 400 while a 16-year-old Plainview teen was driving a pickup truck behind her.

Beck reportedly slowed down to make a left turn, and the Plainview teen attempted to pass her as she tried to make the turn.

Ultimately, both vehicles collided and Beck’s vehicle crashed into a culvert.

Beck was transported to Covenant in Plainview, where she was pronounced dead. The teen was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Road conditions were clear and dry. The posted speed limit for the road was 55 mph.

The crash remains under investigation.
