Deputy K. LeMelle Injured in Fiery Crash on Sam Houston Parkway in Pasadena

Deputy K. LeMelle Injured in Pasadena Two-Vehicle Crash at Sam Houston Parkway and San Augustine Avenue

Pasadena, Texas (July 27, 2022) – A Harris County deputy constable was among three people who were injured in a fiery traffic crash early Tuesday morning in Pasadena, according to a local news source.

The wreck occurred at about 2:30 a.m. July 26, in the area of E. Sam Houston Parkway and San Augustine Avenue.

According to the report, Deputy K. LeMelle was parked and monitoring traffic on the shoulder of northbound Beltway 8, where her patrol vehicle, an SUV, was rear-ended by a utility truck.

The patrol vehicle then crashed into the retaining wall and caught fire. A bystander stopped at the scene and pulled LeMelle from the burning vehicle.

LeMelle was taken to Southeast Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the truck both sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
