Dianna Johnston Seriously Injured in Frankston Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 155

Frankston, Texas (April 27, 2021) – According to the DPS, a couple was killed in a two-vehicle crash that left a woman seriously injured Sunday afternoon in Frankston.

The fatal crash happened at about 2:05 p.m., April 25, on State Highway 155.

DPS said James Wimberly, 84, of Bullard, was driving a white 2015 Toyota Highlander northbound in the right lane of the highway while Dianna Johnston, 57, of Elkhart, was also driving a 2020 Kia Sorento northbound at a high rate of speed.

As Johnston drove over a small grade, she failed to control her speed and rear-ended the Highlander.

The force of the impact caused the Highlander to veer across the southbound lanes into a ditch where it crashed head-on into several trees.

The Sorento also veered off the roadway, and it hit a culvert and a sign.

James and his wife, Bonnie Wimberly, 84, also of Bullard, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson was taken to UT Health Tyler with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statutes which were violated.
