Domenico Ward Injured in South Austin Bicycle Accident on Barton Hills Drive

Austin, Texas (February 9, 2021) – A 10-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Friday in south Austin, according to a local news source.

The accident happened on February 5, on Barton Hills Drive.

According to the report, Domenico Ward was riding his bike in the bike lane when a car stopped in the middle of the road. An SUV which was following the car turned into the bike lane to go around the stopped car.

Domenico then pulled ahead of the SUV, which then sped up and hit him.

The SUV fled the scene after the accident.

Domenico sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Domenico was able to describe the driver as a woman in her 40s with blonde hair and bangs and a ponytail and the SUV might have been a Hyundai Tucson.

The authorities are looking for the suspect.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call APD.
