Woman Critically Injured in San Benito Pedestrian Crash on South Sam Houston Street

San Benito, Texas (December 10, 2021) – A woman in her 20s was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a pedestrian accident in San Benito, according to the police.

The accident happened on December 7, in the 1600 block of South Sam Houston Street.

Police said the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a southbound pickup truck.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. She was only described as a Hispanic female and was wearing a gray-colored- Ecko brand shirt with black, loose-fitting sweatpants. She also had white Tommy Hilfiger lace-up shoes. She has a thin build, weighing approximately 110 to 130 pounds. She has the tattoo of the word “Love” on her left shoulder area and a tattoo of a black-colored heart on her right hip area.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the accident or the victim’s identity is asked to call San Benito Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (956) 361 – 3880.
