Domingo Fernando Simon Killed in 2-Car Accident on U.S. 59 in Bowie County

Domingo Fernando Simon ID’d as Person Killed in Bowie County Crash on U.S. 59
Bowie County, Texas (May 3, 2019) – The person who was killed Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident in Bowie County has been identified as Domingo Fernando Simon, 20, of Texarkana, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal accident occurred at about 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 on U.S. 59, about six miles south of Texarkana.
The DPS said Simon’s car was stopped facing east at the intersection of US-59 and the Sulpher River boat ramp. He then pulled out, failing to yield the right of way to a pickup that was being driven southbound by Jack Bruce Wright, 69, of Atlanta.
Simon was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Jonathan Charles Allen, 20, of Texarkana, who was a passenger in Simon’s vehicle, was taken to a Shreveport hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
Wright was transported to a hospital and was reportedly in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
