Doris Washington Killed in Shelby County Pedestrian Crash on US 84

Shelby County, Texas (March 27, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Shelby County early Tuesday morning, according to the DPS.
The incident happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. March 26 on US 87 east of County Road 3590.
DPS said Doris Washington, 76, of Center, was trying to cross the street when she was struck by a 2015 Toyota passenger vehicle traveling westbound on the highway.
Washington was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Joshua Hankins, 35, of Logansport, was not injured.
The DPS is investigating the incident.
