Douglas Osiemo Killed in Arlington Car Crash on West Arkansas Lane at Cooper Street

Arlington, Texas (July 3, 2021) – A man was killed Friday night in a hit-and-run crash in Arlington, according to the authorities.

The deadly crash happened just after 9:00 p.m., July 2, at the intersection of West Arkansas Lane and Cooper Street.

Authorities said a Pantego police officer attempted a traffic stop of a 2011 maroon Buick LaCrosse, but the driver sped away, heading eastbound on West Arkansas Lane at a high rate of speed, leading to chase.

The Buick ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into a sedan.

The sedan driver, Douglas Ogwoka Onsare Osiemo, 39, of Arlington, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Buick continued past South Fielder Road, and the Pantego officer stopped the pursuit.

Two people in the Buick fled the scene on foot. Officers found contraband in the vehicle.
