2 Officers Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash at Turtle Creek and Anchor Drive in Port Arthur

Two Port Arthur Police Officers Injured in Port Arthur Crash at Turtle Creek and Anchor Drive near Central Mall; Gloria Roy Arrested

Port Arthur, Texas (July 30, 2022) – Two Port Arthur police officers were injured in a two-vehicle collision Friday night in Port Arthur, according to the Port Arthur Police Department.

The crash happened at around 8:45 Friday, July 29, at the intersection of Turtle Creek and Anchor Drive near Central Mall.

Gloria Roy, 71, of Groves, was driving a 2018 Cadillac SUV southbound on Anchor Drive when she allegedly ran a red light and hit a Port Arthur Police Department 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe that was heading eastbound on Turtle Creek Drive.

Due to the impact, the police unit flipped on its side while the cTahoe r sustained major damage.

The driver and passenger of the Port Arthur Police Department Chevrolet were transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas with non-life threatening injuries.

Roy who did not suffer any injuries was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of DUI.

Texas Department of is investigating the crash.
