Leander, Texas (June 17, 2022) – One person was killed, and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash last month in Leander, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 12:11 a.m., May 21, at the intersection of 183A Toll Frontage Road and East San Gabriel Parkway.

Police said a Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound on 183A Toll Road while a Ford Explorer pickup truck was heading eastbound on East San Gabriel Parkway.

The Ford ran a red light at the intersection and struck the Dodge, which had the right-of-way.

The front right passenger of the Ford, Anastasia Aleman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two occupants of the Ford and the two occupants of the Dodge were taken to Round Rock St. David’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
