Dustin Wyatt Allen Killed in Hockley County Pedestrian Accident on SH 114

Hockley County, Texas (January 22, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday night in Hockley County, about four miles east of Smyer, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 10:40 p.m., January 17, on State Highway 114.

DPS said Dustin Wyatt Allen, 23, was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a truck driven by Danny Mark Brackens, 48.

Allen was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

Brackens was uninjured in the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
