Earl Kirkpatrick Killed in Burleson Plane Crash on Renfro Street near Spinks Airport

Burleson, Texas (December 21, 2020) – An 85-year-old man was killed Saturday afternoon in a plane crash at a Burleson parking lot, according to authorities.

The deadly crash happened on December 19, in the back parking lot of a business in the 600 block of E. Renfro Street.

FAA said the Sonex experimental aircraft was approaching Spinks Airport when it crashed just south of the runway.

The pilot, Earl Kirkpatrick, 85, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person on board at the time of the crash.

The business was not damaged in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
