Three Injured in Lufkin School Bus Crash on State Highway 94

Lufkin, Texas (February 24, 2021) – Three people, including two students, were injured Tuesday afternoon in a school bus crash in Lufkin, a local news source reported.

The crash happened on February 23, on state Highway 94.

Authorities said a Hudson ISD Bus 45 was parked and was dropping off a student near Lucky’s and a daycare. When the student had disembarked, a pickup truck struck a minivan that was stopped behind the bus. The impact pushed the minivan into the back of the bus.

There were 25 students on the bus at the time of the crash.

The minivan driver was taken to the hospital after complaining of back and neck pain.

One student sustained bruising to their face but was not taken to the hospital.

Another student was taken to the hospital by their parent after they later complained of pain in the neck and back.

The other students and staff were checked by the paramedics at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
