Edward Beltran and Ethan Beltran Killed in Ferris Pedestrian Accident on FM 664 near Jimmy Birdwell Boulevard

Ferris, Texas (December 18, 2021) – A child and an adult were killed last month in a pedestrian accident in Ferris, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 6:15 p.m., November 15, on FM 664 near Jimmy Birdwell Boulevard.

Authorities said a 2020 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on the highway approaching a small hillcrest on an unlighted road.

A man and a child were crossing the highway from the northbound side to the southbound side when they were struck by the Explorer.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Edward Beltran, 36, of Ferris, and Ethan Beltran, a student at Ingram Elementary School.

The Explorer driver, a 51-year-old man from Lancaster, was uninjured in the crash.

DPS said a four-door passenger car was at a stop sign at the intersection of Jimmy Birdwell and FM 664 when the crash occurred and stayed at the scene with emergency flashers on until first responders arrived. The authorities want to talk with the driver of the vehicle at the stop sign.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call DPS Waxahachie at 972-923-6670 (choose Option 1 for highway patrol) or the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 972-937-6060.
