Ezekiel Garcia Killed in Lubbock Pedestrian Accident on Avenue A

Ezekiel Garcia ID’d as Victim In Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Avenue A in Lubbock

Lubbock, Texas (June 27, 2023) – The man who died after he was hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in Lubbock has been identified as Ezekiel Garcia, 42.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, the deadly crash was reported at around 10:34 p.m. Wednesday, June 21 in the 3300 block of Avenue A.

The LPD said Garcia was walking on the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle, driven by Dorthey Taylor, 52.

Taylor told authorities that she was driving down Avenue A and hit something. According to the report, Taylor did not know what she hit, and initially drove away from the scene.

Taylor later returned back to the scene of the crash to verify what she had hit. Unfortunately, she found Garcia lying in the road and called emergency services.

No arrests have been made.

The crash remains under investigation.
