Felix Ybarra ID’d as Man Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Crash at East Stassney Lane and South Congress Avenue
Austin, Texas (August 2, 2019) – The man who died after being hit by a vehicle at an intersection in South Austin last Thursday night has been identified as Felix Ybarra, 56, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. July 25, in the 5700 block of South Congress Avenue at East Stassney Lane.
Authorities said Ybarra was in a wheelchair trying to cross the street when he was hit by a 2013 Kia Sorrento at the intersection.
The victim was rushed to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver involved stayed at the scene after the crash.
The police are investigating the collision.
