Four Injured in Two-Car Crash on Galveston Causeway in Galveston

Four Hospitalized After Galveston Two-Vehicle Crash on Galveston Causeway

Galveston, Texas (August 9, 2020) – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Galveston, according to police.

The crash happened at about 4:30 p.m., August 8, on the Galveston Causeway.

Police said a black Lexus sedan rear-ended a tan Mercury sedan on the causeway.

A man, a woman and two children in the Mercury were taken to a University of Medical Branch hospital for treatment. The woman, who was the driver, and one of the children were listed in stable conditions. The man had minor injuries. The second child was listed in critical condition.

The Lexus driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash backed up traffic heading northbound on Interstate 45 for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
