Gabriel Ortiz Injured in El Paso Motorcycle Accident on Alabama Street

45-Year-Old Gabriel Ortiz ID’d as Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in El Paso Crash on Alabama Street and Pierce Avenue

El Paso, Texas (May 25, 2022) – The motorcyclist who was seriously injured Monday evening in a traffic collision at an intersection in central El Paso has been identified as 45-year-old  Gabriel Ortiz.

According to El Paso Police, the major-injury motorcycle accident occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. on May 23, on Alabama Street and Pierce Avenue.

Police said Ortiz was riding his motorcycle northbound on Alabama Street at a high rate of speed when he was hit by a pickup truck that entered the roadway from Pierce Avenue.

Ortiz was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities said failure to yield the right of way played a role in Hernandez’s part.

No further information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
