Geraldine Rowe Critically Injured in Burkeville Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 63 at CR 1047

Burkeville, Texas (October 29, 2021) – A woman was critically injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash, about 5 miles west of Burkeville, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 10:00 a.m., October 28, at the intersection of State Highway 63 and County Road 1047.

DPS said Geraldine Rowe, 64, of Houston, was driving a 2013 Mercedes Benz sedan westbound on SH 63 behind a 1996 Kenworth truck that was pulling a log loader.

The Kenworth slowed down to turn onto CR 1047 and was rear-ended by the Mercedes Benz.

Rowe was airlifted to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with critical injuries.

The Kenworth driver, Louis Barnum, 58, of Warren, and his passenger, Dewey Eddins, 47, of Woodville, were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
