Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha Killed in Coryell County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 36

Coryell County, Texas (May 17, 2023) – A man was killed Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Coryell County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on May 15, on SH 36, 3.5 miles east of Jonesboro.

DPS said a 32-year-old Waco man was driving a 2016 Ford F-350 westbound too fast for the wet roadway when the vehicle hydroplaned and crossed into the path of an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet truck towing a trailer, resulting in a collision.

Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha, 32, of Waco, who was a backseat passenger in the Ford, was killed in the crash.

Both drivers were taken to Baylor Scott & White in Temple for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
