Giselle Luviano Dies Days after DUI Crash on Harrisburg in Houston
Giselle Luviano Killed in Houston Car Accident on Harrisburg near 75th Street; Isreal Lugo Arrested
Houston, Texas (January 28, 2019) – The 5-year-old girl who was injured early Sunday morning in an alleged DUI crash in Houston has died, according to a local news source.
The tragic accident took place just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday, January 20 on Harrisburg near 75th Street and involved two vehicles.
Authorities said the collision occurred when a driver traveling on Harrisburg spotted a red Chevy pickup driving erratically and swerving out of the lane.
As the pickup approached a red light, Isreal Suarez Lugo, 34, allegedly sped on through without hitting the brakes and T-boned a black Cadillac that was traveling northbound on 75th Street.
Giselle Luviano, 5, who was a passenger in the Cadillac, sustained traumatic brain injuries and was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries Sunday, Jan. 27.
Three other occupants of the Cadillac, a 15-year-old and two adults, were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Lugo, an oil company worker, was released on Wednesday after posting $40,000 bail. But on Sunday, after Giselle’s death, authorities put out a warrant for one count of intoxication manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
