Rider Injured in Austin Bicycle Collision on 12th Street Southwest and Sixth Avenue Southwest

Austin, Texas (August 1, 2019) – A bicyclist was hospitalized after a crash on Tuesday evening in Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

The crash happened at about 7 p.m. July 30, on 12th Street Southwest and Sixth Avenue Southwest.

Police said a 45-year-old Austin man was traveling southbound along 12th Street Southwest when he crashed into a car that was preparing to turn onto 12th Street Southwest from Sixth Avenue Southwest.

The rider was taken to Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Austin for treatment of minor injuries. Police said the rider was not wearing a helmet.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation.
