Rhonda Rae Kulp Killed in Wills Point Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 80

Wills Point, Texas (December 1, 2020) – According to the DPS, two pedestrians were hit and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening in Wills Point.

The deadly accident happened around 6:30 p.m., November 29, on U.S. Highway 80.

According to a preliminary investigation, a pickup truck was traveling westbound in the inside lane of the highway when it struck Mark Everett Nevala, 52, and Rhonda Rae Kulp, 55, both of Brandon, Florida, who were walking northbound across the highway from a service station.

The pickup came to rest at the intersection of SH 64 and US 80.

Nevala was taken to a Canton hospital, where he later died.

Kulp was airlifted to a Tyler hospital, where she later died.

The pickup driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
