Graylan Spring Dies Two Days after Corrigan Crash on U.S. Highway 59

Corrigan, Texas (January 23, 2023) – The Stephen F. Austin State University student Graylan Paul Spring died on Sunday, two days after being involved in a crash that also left another SFA student dead in Corrigan.

The crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 20, on U.S. Highway 59.

Authorities said Former SFA baseball team member Micah Alan McAfoose, 18, of Cypress, was driving a 2007 Nissan Versa southbound on U.S. Highway 59 when an 18-wheeler made a left-hand turn traveling northbound from Plant Road. The Nissan hit the trailer of the 18-wheeler, causing the car to be pinned under the trailer.

McAfoose was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, Spring, was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, January 22.

Corrigan police are investigating the crash.
