Haley Ramirez Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on FM 624 in Corpus Christi

Haley Ramirez ID’d as Young Robstown Mother Killed in Corpus Christi Crash on FM 624

Corpus Christi, Texas (September 6, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the 19-year-old mother who died following a wrong–way crash on Thursday night in Corpus Christi as Haley Ramirez of Robstown.

The deadly crash happened at about 11:15 p.m. on August 31 on FM 624.

According to the DPS, Haley Ramirez, 19, of Robstown, was driving down FM 624 with her one-year-old child in the car when a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes slammed into the driver’s side of Ramirez’s car.

Ramirez died at the scene. Ramirez’s daughter was taken to Driscoll Children’s Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The alleged wrong-way driver was identified as Valisios Talarantas, 34, of Corpus Christi.

The crash remains under investigation.
