Hope Williams, Uriel Gonzalez Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Crash on US 59 in Polk County

Hope Williams and Uriel Gonzalez Hospitalized after Polk County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 59 near FM 62
Polk County, Texas (January 23, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on a Polk County highway, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. January 21, on US 59 south of FM 62.
DPS said Edward Johnson,56, of Nacogdoches, was driving a 2008 Dodge pickup northbound on the outside lane of the highway when for unknown reasons he failed to his control speed and rear-ended a 2008 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer.
The Dodge drove off the roadway to the right and hit several trees after the impact.
Johnson was uninjured in the crash. Hope Williams, 54, and Etta Skinner, 48, both of Nacogdoches, were passengers in the Dodge.
Williams was airlifted to Conroe Regional Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The Kenworth driver, Uriel Gonzalez, 30, of Chicago, Illinois, was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Livingston for possible treatment.
A passenger in the Kenworth was uninjured in the crash.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
