Houston ISD Police Officer Injured in Rear-End Crash on Texas Highway 288 in Houston

Houston ISD Police Officer Hospitalized After Houston Car Crash on Texas Highway 288 near I-45

Houston, Texas (May 21, 2020) – An Houston ISD police officer was injured Wednesday afternoon in a rear-end collision in Houston, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. May 20, on Texas Highway 288 near Interstate 45.

Police said the officer was heading northbound on the highway just south of the I-45 interchange when his SUV was rear-ended by another vehicle.

Responding emergence crews placed a neck brace on the officer before pulling him out of the vehicle. He was then taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
