HPD Officer and Driver Injured in North Austin Two-Vehicle Crash at Cavalcade Street and Irvington Boulevard

Austin, Texas (September 21, 2022) – A Houston police officer and another driver were injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash in north Austin, according to the police.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m., September 20, at the intersection of Cavalcade Street and Irvington Boulevard.

According to the report, the officer was responding to a foot chase and stopped at the intersection and cleared the roadway.

The officer then went through the intersection and was hit on the passenger side of his patrol car by a female civilian driver. The impact caused the car to flip over.

Both the officer and the other driver were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
