Injuries Reported in Lubbock Three-Vehicle Crash on South University Avenue at CR 7540

Lubbock, Texas (February 28, 2020) – Injuries were reported Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Lubbock, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred on Thursday, February 27, at South University Avenue and CR 7540.

DPS said a pickup truck was heading northbound on South University Avenue and was attempting to turn left onto County Road 7540. The pickup driver failed to yield the right-of-way to a southbound passenger car, resulting in a collision.

The impact caused the passenger car to spin around and hit a school bus that was stopped at County Road 7540.

The occupants in the pickup truck and the passenger car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There were ten students on the school bus, but they were uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
